Character back story: Ariana was the youngest child of the Dumbledore family. As a young girl she showed her magic to a group of boys. When she wasn't able to repeat what she'd done the boys attacked her, leaving Ariana emotionally scarred. Her father exacted his revenge on the boys and was sent to prison. Ariana from that point on was unable to control her magic. Her mother kept her home and quiet. Until an outburst of magic killed her. Then Ariana was left to the care of her older brothers Albus and Aberforth. Albus, Aberforth and Gellert Grindelwald were fighting and Ariana got upset. In the end no one was sure who did it- but Ariana was dead at the age of 14.

Then-during the third wizarding war-she wasn't dead anymore.

The little creek was her favorite place to play ever since Aberforth showed her how to get there. First she crossed the street in front of their house which wasn't hard because there was only a couple of houses and no traffic. The busy part of the neighborhood was way down the road. Once she crossed the street it was a short walk to the rusted gate that was chained shut. Chained shut, but the gap was big enough to let even grownups slip through. Not that she ever saw any grownups. Most of the time it was just her and her doll. All the other kids in the neighborhood went to school. She had all day to play during the week. On the weekends she didn't mind sharing her creek. Sometimes the Muggle children let her help them build little dams or race her stick against theirs in the rapid rush of cool clear water over mossy rocks.
